Frome Mineral Junction Signal box
Frome Mineral Junction signal box
was moved to Didcot by the GWS, and now controls the northern
end of the branch line, including the broad gauge section. The
white poles around this area are the supports for the over-head
signal cabling, this being a method that was used in the 19th
century, unlike later installations which have the cables at ground
level. Also round this area are several of the older types of
signals, this includes a disc and bar signal.
