The Travelling Post
Office (TPO) was used to take mail across the country, and exchange
mail with ground units while on the move. When attached to a complete
mail train sorting of the post would also be undertaken whilst
on the move. Regular demonstrations of the exchange of mail take
place at Didcot and are well worth seeing.
