Transfer shed
Originally this building
was where the main station car park is now located, being moved
by the GWS. The purpose of the building is to allow transshipment
of items between Brunnel's broad gauge and the narrow gauge of
the rest of the country. The right hand side, containing railcar
No.22, has mixed gauge track that can be seen, while that on the
left is narrow, or standard, gauge.
The transfer shed is now used as a platform at one end of the branch line, the other being Didcot Halt, and from here it is a short walk to Oxford Road station, on the main demonstration line.
